Who We Are

The Short Version

The Public Arts and Culture Alliance ("PACA") runs this website. We collect the minimum information the site needs to work: your email address, your name if you join as a member, and your newsletter preference. We use it to send the newsletter and sign-in links and to run your member account. We do not sell personal information.

What We Collect

Email address — when you subscribe to the newsletter or join as a member.

Name — when you join as a member.

Account records — your membership status, newsletter preference, and sign-in activity (when a sign-in link was requested and used). Sign-in links are stored in hashed form; there are no passwords on this site.

Technical records — our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and operations.

Weather and place in the info bar — the bar at the top of each page shows local time and weather. If your browser has already granted this site location access, the lookup happens between your browser and a weather service; your location is not sent to PACA and is not stored by us.

Who Processes It

A small number of service providers process this information on our behalf: Cloudflare hosts the website and the member database; Buttondown manages the newsletter list and sends newsletters; Resend sends sign-in and confirmation email. Each provider handles the data under its own privacy terms, for the purpose of providing its service to us.

Cookies

This site sets one cookie: a sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in for up to 30 days after you use a sign-in link. It is essential to the account feature and is not used for advertising.

Your Choices

Unsubscribe — every newsletter email carries an unsubscribe link, and members can change their newsletter setting on the account page. Unsubscribing from the newsletter does not delete a member account.

Access and deletion — you can ask what information we hold about you, or ask us to delete your member record, by writing to [email protected]. Deleting your record removes your account and your newsletter subscription.

Retention — we keep member and subscriber records while the account or subscription is active. Records connected to a deletion request are removed, apart from copies in routine backups that age out on their own cycle.

Changes and Contact

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Questions about privacy go to the same inbox as everything else: [email protected] — Public Arts and Culture Alliance, Brooklyn, New York.
